Photography 101 with Coffee, Taught By Melissa Linney

Join wedding and family photographer Melissa Linney on Sunday, March 18th for photography 101 with coffee.
Melissa will introduce you to the fundamentals of digital photography in a fun and relaxing environment. This Beginner Digital SLR workshop will inspire you to get creative with your camera by teaching you the basics of shutter speed, aperture, and ISO.
You’ll learn about composition, using natural light, what all those buttons and menus are on your camera, and much, much more.
The workshop will start at The Zen Succulent with classroom style demonstration. Next, we’ll take what we’ve learned and head outside to take photos of some of downtown’s best spots, then wrap-up with coffee and conversation on the rooftop of The Durham Hotel.
Item to Bring to Workshop:
- DSLR: Digital Single Lens Reflex Camera (fully charged with a memory card, ready to take pictures).
Tea will be served in-house with coffee & light pastries at The Durham Hotel.

Workshop size is limited to 12 participants. No refunds or exchanges. Students must be 18 years old or older to participate in this workshop, with students 21+ to participate in drinks.
About the Instructor, Melissa:
Melissa is a wedding and family photographer based in Durham. She started her photography business in 2011 after earning a fine art degrees from Oberlin College and UNCG. Melissa specializes in using natural light and seeks to capture authentic moments in front of the lens.
